Above are the age groups for the 2010 State Championships. They
will be updated as we get the information, and only after the final
qualification date. For Level 9 and 10 the age groups will be for States ONLY,
and will be different for Regionals and Nationals. For Level 8 age groups will
be the SAME for States and Regionals.

Clarifications from USA Gymnastics
Clarifications include rules regarding tape/Velcro on vault
runway, vaulting without a signal from Chief Judge, allowable C elements for
Level 7/8 bars, awarding value part to beam stretch jump, fall on floor
dismount, breaking of floor dance passage, new IRS mileage reimbursement rate,
and carpooling clarification.
REGION VII CONGRESS
to be HELD in BALTIMORE
This year’s Regional Congress will be held at the Sheraton
Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. The dates are from June 25-27. Congresses
will include numerous lectures including Coaches Education, Judges Education,
Recreational Education, Business Education, and much more! Everyone, whether
judge, coach, class instructor, or business managers, can benefit from this
event.

Coaches’ Dress Code
The new
dress code implemented by USAG is now in effect at ALL MDUSAG
competitions. The only exceptions
given are for theme based meets, where the coach may dress in accordance with
the theme for that meet. Coaches in
violation of this rule will NOT be allowed on the floor, even if they are the
only coach from their gym. As a reminder, the dress code states that
appropriate attire is:
Closed Toe athletic shoes
Athletic warm-up pants or
“Docker” style pants (NO JEANS!)
Athletic or tailored shorts that
are of a reasonable length (7” inseam)
No holes, tears, or short shorts
Collared shirts, business casual
shirts, or T-shirts with gym logo (No spaghetti straps, low cut tops or midriff
revealing shirts.
No hats or visors

This is
the warm-up the Level 8 Regional Qualifiers will be doing. There should be a
video, but I’m having some issues. It is very similar to the National
Team Warm-Up with some modifications.
