Bethany
began competing at the age of nine and has consistently qualified for state and
regional competitions throughout her gymnastics career. Over her competitive career, she has earned
an abundance of awards and has earned numerous 1st place all-around
awards. She was level 4 state champion for level 4 at the age of 9 and took 2nd
at level 5 at the age of 10. Last year,
she took third in the state on both bars and beam and 2nd in the
region on beam. In 2010 at the Maryland State Championships, she place 2nd
on vault and bars en route to 2nd place in the All Around.

Bethany
will graduate from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Maryland and carries a
3.86 GPA. She was named WHAG Student
Athlete of the Month for February 2010.
She is a member of the Fort Hill High School track team and was inducted

Central Assembly of God Church.

Laura takes all AP and Honors classes and has held the highest GPA in the Bullis class of 2010 for the past 6 years with an overall GPA of 98%. She is the Vice President of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Bullis It’s Academic team. In addition to gymnastics, she is a regular volunteer at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she helps wounded soldiers. She also works at the National Institutes of Health researching treatments for spinal cord injury, which she became interested in through gymnastics.

Laura is currently undecided. She has been accepted to MIT with a full Navy ROTC scholarship and also to the United States Naval Academy. She is still waiting to hear from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford. In college, she plans to study Pre-Medicine while training to be an officer in the Navy, she also hopes to participate in collegiate gymnastics.
