2009 Maryland Outstanding Gymnast
Danielle Hall Hill’s BACKGROUND: Danielle
is a 7th grader at Rocky Hill Middle School and Maintains a 3.9
GPA, she has made honor roll every quarter since starting at Rocky Hill.
Danielle enjoys Skiing, swimming, going to the beach with my family and
friends, she enjoys babysitting and art! Coaches Comments: As
long as I can remember Dani has always stood out as one of the most
respectful and hardest working gymnasts on level 9. Her quiet even temper has
made her one of the most coachable athletes on our team. Even in the face of daily challenges
at gymnastics and at school she never buckles under pressure. Dani gives the other girls around her
the confidence to continue even when they can’t seem to get their
skills. She has been a more than
welcome addition to our program and I wish I had several more athletes just
like her. What does your involvement in usa
gymnastics mean to you: It
is hard to put into words what being involved in USAG means to me it’s taught
me that you can’t always be perfect but you should always aim to
be. I’ve learned that in
order to be a gymnast you need desire and determination—you have to
want it. Every practice counts,
every detail makes a difference and you consistently need to be mentally
prepared and confident. Since
starting gymnastics at 5, going to the gym has been fun and has given me the
opportunity to make many good friends, as well as traveling around the country. When I do well at a meet, I know that
all those hours have paid off and I feel a sense of achievement. Gymnastics has helped me become more
responsible, disciplined, and has helped me reach goals that I never could of
dreamed of achieving. Being a
part of USAG has given me experiences that I will keep forever. |
