Kate Buckler of Unique Sports Academy Parents Lori and Gregg Buckler. Kate was the Level 8 Bar state Champion and Level 9 easterns 2nd place on Bars; she was also a level 10 regional qualifier.  Kate plans to attend West Virginia University next fall and Major in the Athletic Training Program!

Christine Miller from Columbia Gymnastics Parents Jim and Colette Miller. State Championships Qualifier Levels 5-9 (2001-2008). 2003 Level 7 National Judges Cup – 1st place Beam, 6th place All Around. 2006 Level 8 State Championships – 2nd place Beam, 7th place All Around. 2006 Level 8 Regional Championships – 1st place Beam, 8th place Tied All Around. 2007 Level 9 State Championships – 5th place Beam. 2007 Level 9 Regional Qualifier. Member of National Honor Society, National Art Honors Society, Art Club, French Club, Break dance Club.  Maryland Higher Education Distinguished Scholar Award – Honorable Mention, Inducted into the National Honor Society, Honor Roll (every quarter), 2nd Place School Science Fair, Graduate Women in Science – Women in Engineering Award (Countywide Science Fair). Plans for next year either attending Springfield College for the Physicians Assistant Program with an academic scholarship and participation on the varsity gymnastics team or attend college (University of Pittsburgh most likely) pursuing a pre-med major or physicians assistant major while competing gymnastics at the collegiate club level

Jenna White from Docksiders, Parents Paul and Christine White. 2005 Level 9 Maryland Vault state Champion . 2006 Level 9 Regional Floor Champion, 5th All Around. 2 time level 9 eastern National Qualifier 2007 and 2006. Honor Roll student at Arundel Sr High

Plans for next year: Jenna is undecided, and is considering University of Akron, University of Wisconsin, and Jacksonville University. She plans on studying Early Education and becoming a 1st grade teacher after graduation

Maria Braune of Frederick Gymnastics Club, parents John and Patty Braune. 2 time level 9 eastern qualifier, 6 Time regional qualifier, Recognized as a MD distinguished scholar. Will be a certified Nurse Assistant at the end of the year

Plans for next year: attend Towson University and continue gymnastics there!

Kelcie  Morris of Frederick Gymnastics Club, Parents Ron and Brenda Morris. 2003 Level 8 Maryland state Floor Champion and regional qualifier. 2004 Level 9 Maryland state Vault Champion, Maryland State team Member, 4th place all around at regional’s, Eastern/National Qualifier. 2004 international Junior Champion in AA in Germany, 2005 international senior champion on  balance beam and 2nd place all around in Germany. 2005 Level 10 Maryland State Vault Champion. 2005, 2006, 2007 Level 10 regional qualifier. Scholastic honor roll student, FCA member, Animal shelter volunteer, Member of Life House Bethel Church and Youth group. Plans for next year: Kelcie Morris has decided to accept an Academic Scholarship to the college at Brockport State University of New York to study sports exercise and compete for the Golden Eagles.

Sydney Liang of Hills Gymnastics parent: Velma Lee, Level 8 Maryland state beam champion and regional qualifier. Level 9 Maryland state Vault, Floor and all around champion, Level 9 regional Vault Champion, Level 9 5th place vault Easterns, Level 10 Maryland state floor Champion, Level 10 Regional qualifier since 2003, Level 10 2nd place vault regional’s. Hosten Arms School, 4.0 GPA, Ceramics major, AP Courses, Inducted into the Caume Laude Society, Top 10% of her class. Secretary of her class since 10th grade. Plans for next year: to compete in college gymnastics, study Pre med major in biology. She has been accepted into Boston College and the honors program at University of MD. She is waiting to hear back from Brown University, UPenn, Harvard, Georgetown and John Hopkins.

Nicole Williams of Hills Gymnastics Parents Jean Moody-Williams and Hendri Williams. State Champion level 8 All around bars and beam. State and regional qualifier since 2002. Level 8 3rd place regional champion, Maryland state team member 2002 through 2007. Blake High School Team county and state Champions, High school Bar and Floor state Champion, Graduating from James Hubert Blake High school 2009 With a weighted GPA 4.1 honors and AP courses. Member of SADD, President of youth Christian Leadership council, President of REJOICE dance ministry, Member of Jack and Jill of America, Member of Nobel Prize National Society of High school honors, Received African American Award of Excellence, Received Minds in Motion Student athlete award, Has been recommended for National Scholarships, Member of the Board of Trustees, Member of the Health Ministry, Member of Dance Company at Blake Hightail Plans for next year: Nicole has been accepted to Hampton University, University of Bridgeport, Penn State University and Rutgers, she has not decided upon a school at this time, but has offers of gymnastics and academic scholarships

Maddie Merriam of Hills Gymnastics parents Cindy and Jim Merriam. 5th year as a level 10, 4 time national qualifier. 3 time state bar champion, 2 time state all around beam and floor champion, 2 time member of the Maryland state team, 2004 regional and state Vault Champion, 2006 Regional Beam Co Champion, 2008 Nationals 7th all around 9th on Vault and 9th on Floor, Part of the Region 7 Junior A team that won JO nationals in 2008. 4 year honor roll student at Magruder high school. Mattie has modeled for 4 years for Alpha Factor. She has been their national Ad Campaign Model several times and has been seen frequently in USAG and International Gymnast if AF leotards. Plans for Next year: Full scholarship to Penn State University for gymnastics

Toi Garcia from Docksiders, parents: Carlos and Gwen Garcia. 7 time Maryland state champion, including 2002 Level 7 All Around, 2004 Level 9 All Around Champion. Maryland State Team member 5 teams (2002 Level 7, 2003 Level 8, 2004 Level 9, 2006 & 2008 Level 10), 2005 Level 10 Regional’s 2nd on Bars 3rd all around, 2006 MD states 1st on Vault Bars floor and 3rd all around. 2006 Regional’s 2nd Vault 3rd floor, 2008 Nationals 2nd Floor 8th all around and 1st team, 3 time Level 10 regional’s qualifier 2 time Level 10 national qualifier. Honor Roll Student at Severn School, 2007 Teen of the Week Anne Arundel County .

Plans for next Year: Auburn University in Alabama on a full gymnastics scholarship. She plans to study journalism and minor in psychology. Following graduation she plans on attending law school.

Rachel Fincham from Docksiders, Parent Linda Fincham. 8 time Maryland state champion, including 2002 Level 8 All Around, 2008 Level 10 All Around champion, 1st bars, floor, and all around level 10 Maryland State 2008 and Maryland State Team member. 6 time level 10 regional qualifier , 3 time level 10 JO national qualifier. 8th All around, 3rd level 10 J.O Nationals JO 2007. 3rd Place uneven Bar  level 10 JO nationals 2008. 2008 Outstanding achievement award in Anatomy and physiology, Kiwanis Club award, Presidents Volunteer award 2007 for raising a puppy for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Distinguished honor Roll 2008, Principals list Honor Roll 2008-2009 Plans for next year: NC State University on a full gymnastics Scholarship
