2009 Maryland Outstanding Gymnast Neva Richardson Twisters BACKGROUND: Neva
is a 5th grader with a 4.0 Grade Point Average. In addition to
gymnastics, she also plays Lacrosse and is an Acolyte at her church Coaches Comments: Neva
is a spark plug and a fierce competitor. She is an amazing athlete. Her
routines take your breath away. Not only has she been blessed with amazing
natural ability, she is also one of the hardest workers on the Twisters
Gymnastics Team. She has a poise and grace about her like no other. She is a
humble, team player. She worries about her teammates and always puts their
feelings and needs first. She is tough, yet loving. She sets goals for
herself and then exceeds those goals. Day after day and meet after meet, she
exceeds my every expectation. She is a true gymnast with a heart of goldand a work ethic that is impeccable. I am so proud
that she is a part of our Twisters team! What does your involvement in usa gymnastics mean to you: Dream,
believe, achieve. Those are the last words I read before I go to sleep at
night and the first I read when I wake up in the morning. These are the words
that inspire me throughout the day in school and they stay with me through
and until the end of gymnastics practice. I dream of being the best I can be,
I believe I can do it and that gives me the power to achieve my goals. One of
my goals this year has been to continue improving and working hard everyday as a USAG gymnast. A goal I have set this year
is to unite my level 6 team by going to meets focused and confident about
winning the team award. When we do, we feel like we wish this day would never
end. The team award makes everyone feel like they have done something
special. I’m happy, my teammates are happy, and my coaches are happy
and it all started with DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE. |
